I've been trying to use flat tinsel the gold and silver I can't get the memory out and rather than being straight it maintains the curve of the spool. How do I straighten it out???

I've been trying to use flat tinsel the gold and silver I can't get the memory out and rather than being straight it maintains the curve of the spool. How do I straighten it out???
Trying to remove the memory will make it worst. Tie it on and use the jig as it will look right in the water.
Using the spools are just a huge pain in the rear, get some Flashabou and it’s straight and just cut it to length!
