The Boss and The Shu
Just couldn't stand it and needed a few hours out today and these two Gewbers said" sure, why not? It's only supposed to rain." So we met after sunup and headed to Lake Beresford to see what was up. 59* made for a chilly run to the Manatee zone but it wasn't bad after that. The water is down about 3' from it's former flood stage and we hoped to find a good bunch of fish. We can safely say that we gave it a good effort. The fish had other ideas. Suffice to say that we didn't have our conversation interrupted very often, though we did have a few that tangled up most of the lines. I set up my usual dozen rods and motored here and there to places that gave up some nice ones just a couple of weeks back, and got a few. We dodged rowing teams and other boats having about the same luck we had. The boss suggested we shoot a dock or two before calling it a day, so with nothing to really leave, off we went. We tried about 15 before the wind said it was time to go and found a couple of areas that held some nice gills and a boathouse that gave up a couple more Crappie for the box. Overall I had a great day in good company, and with Shu taking the fish home, had none to clean. 18 was the take with 6 good ones in the box and a ride to the house for a couple of errands and a nap if I was lucky. One day soon I hope to do this again with these two, sure was fun. I hope the boss can add the pics cuz I don't have a one. Hope you enjoyed visiting with we three......Skeet.

Sounds great! Especially that “cold” 59!

At least you and Shu and Slab were able to get out and fish. It sounds like a okay day and not getting skunked. Thanks for posting

Even tried to dock shoot, and wow, caught'em. How cool is that. First time for me to catch a fish in Florida Dock Shooting. Always thought the waters were too shallow for it.
