I can't tell you anything about FF but I work in production (NFL) and we have ($5000) monitor break all the time going from being in a hot place being move to a cold place. It will cause a moister to get in side if it turn one in cold and back off them back on. So when you turn it on leave it on. I keep mine outside all the time to keep it from building condensation in it in the winter
Thanks Gindog!!!!!
My HDS stays on the boat year-round, with just a grill cover to keep dust and such off it in the yard. Was 19 last week when I left home, 23 when I hit the water. It works flawlessly.
Most all the major electronics manufacturers offer ice packs for ice fishing, I had a Lowrance 522c IGPS
I used for years ice fishing, now I'm useing a HDS 5 and my son uses a elite 4 we've never had any problems.
All we use is pop up or flip over shelters or just sit on the ice nicer out, they all have been exposed to well below zero degrees riding around in sleds and on snowmobiles.
Terrova remote yesterday didn't want to work at a crisp 8 deg. Could be time for a battery though.
