Saturday, Burnt Mills, almost got shut out, almost.
Put in at 9:00 today, first boat on the lake, (saw two others in the afternoon) spent nearly 5 hours trying numerous different spots without so much as a bite to show for it. Then I went to an area that had produced in past winters and managed 15 over the next two hours to get rid of the skunk. Biggest was 11" and they all were on the bottom in 25' of water, I was catching them 22' down. Most on a chartreuse wasshoppah and the rest on various jigs casting, no real preference. I wish I had fished this area earlier, sure wasn't fun spending 5 hours without a bite. Oh well, got a few before the cold spell moved in.
