Lanterns for Ice Fishing
Thinking I wasn't going to ice fish much anymore, I gave my old Coleman to my nephew.
But I've since moved to a lake and there is ice today and guys are setting up their shelters and I feel the need to get out there!
So now I need a lantern.
My question is...electric lantern or fuel? I've never used the electrics.
Any opinions?
Thanks!

Any led lantern will work

The new LED's lanterns are way brighter and the batteries last a lots longer than the battery lights use to last with older lights. I don't ice fish but have used the LED's camping and when the electricity went out at home. :twocents

I have a Coleman Rechargeable Lantern that works real well. No fumes no spilling works good. The propane lanterns work good also.

Coleman propane if you like a little extra heat with your stove. We were out late yeaterday/evening in our old flip over non insulated house at sunset I had the stove maxed and it was a little chilly yet, turned on the lantern and it made it nice a warm.
Unfortunately the fishing was less then stellar and the half mile walk back was a little chilly at -19.lol
