Suzuki owners/Buyers:MUST READ
Attachment 282302Attachment 282303Attachment 282304Please be aware of Suzuki's LIMITED warranty=I learned the hard way. My 2015 30 hp Suzuki 4 stroke with a 3 + 3 year warranty has 21 exclusions!! As is human nature's tendency, we usually only get involved in things when it involves us personally in some way. About 6 months ago, my 2 yr. old Suzuki started showing graze-cracking on the top of the cowling only. As time progressed, uv damage/fading appeared in this area only so I decided to take it to dealer for a warranty claim. He took pictures and submitted per protocol to Tech representative and informed me that he will let me know of Tech's analysis. Well he did get back to me with the sad news of warranty DENIAL! He said maybe pursue it with Corporate so I did. Corporate said that the limited warranty states that paint, decals etc. are not covered with normal wear/tear from elements. I told her that this was abnormal because there is no other deterioration on motor, She said she will make a note of it but no one will get back to me the expense to repair/replace is on the customer. I'm enclosing exclusions so existing Suzuki owners/buyers will know beforehand. Otherwise it is a great motor, but admittedly I am crossing my fingers hoping for no more issues.
Suzuki owners/Buyers beware
Yes, Mr. Dux, so are my vehicles, and my Yammies over the years. Very important factor is that 0 percent of any other part of this motor is paint damaged. Can you imagine a car manufacturer excluding paint sun damage on ANY part of a vehicle? Not everybody has a car cover/garage. Your next question "why not cover the motor w/cover?" I occasionally do, so what about the exposure to elements when operating? Maybe the Suzuki team should state in its owners manual ...MANDATORY garage/motor cover when not in use. My ungaraged Yammies/Tohatsus don't look like this, most importantly, after 2 years!
How about the unprotected cowlings on unsold motors on dealer lots?
