Just scouting and crappie fishing 11/05/2017
Mr S called me this morning and invited me to ride along with him for a couple of hours of scouting and a little bit of crappie fishing. So, after making coffee and filling my thermos, I met him at Wolftever creek ramp and we stayed out until about 10 or 11 and I don't know if that was daylight saving time or standard time which returned last night. The fishing was poor, but the scouting was good. Grin. I think that we actually landed 4 crappie and had a short pull off as it was being lifted into the boat. A small bass and even smaller yellow bass attacked our plastics, but we threw those trashy green and yellow fish back.
I fished with Bass Assassin Chicken on a Chain and Lebron fished with Bobby Garland lures I think. We both changed colors a few times. Fish were in 12 feet of water and were scattered. I think that they were just following the massive schools of baitfish that have moved into the bays.
The wind got up and my wife wanted to go to Costco to do a little shopping, so I begged off early. It will get better with time. LOL
