Lake Brewer Question?
Are the crappie biting out there? I have not been crappie fishing since I was in high school and have been doing nothing by fly fishing for the last several years. I am looking at getting back into it and live in Conway. I went out to Brewer alot when I was growing up and its really the only place that I know. Any suggestions from anyone?

I fished Brewer yesterday....no luck except for a white bass! I've hit it several times in the past 2 weeks without much luck. The fish are stacked up in water 35' to 40' deep at 35' to 25' with no structure around and really hard to catch. I haven't talked to any one that has had any luck yet. I fished on the Cadron today.... the bass were biting good (caught about 20) but I only managed 8 nice crappie for the whole afternoon..

Haven't been hearing anything yet, but it should be good this year, they raised the pool level about 8 or 9 feet this year, went a couple of weeks ago, just to get the boat out, and when we lanched at the southern ramp the truck was still sit'n on level ground at the top of the ramp when the boat floated of the trailer. Lots of new water, specially on the shallow west side, the old brush line was in 8 feet of water. Have been get'n some good reports from Overcup, and it ain't that far from Brewer, so they should be start'n there, too. Try the cove at the very north east corner of the lake, just to the east of the ramp on the north end, this cove has a lot of brush and seems to warm up a little faster than the rest of the lake. Good luck!
