It's a family tradition; with a little help from my friends.
I put a new overhead door in for an elderly cousin on Friday and after the job was finished we sat down and visited for a bit. She gave me a picture of my Grandpa Forrest standing in a river holding a stringer of what look like suckers. He was born in 1905 and looks to be around 12 in the picture, so that would make it around 1917 when it was taken. I don't know where it was but it may be the Grand River, Lookingglass River or Sebewa Creek. My guess, judging from the large rocks and background, would be the Grand River upstream from Portland. This stretch would be just a couple of miles from the family farm and would make the most sense. He was an avid fisherman and I think that's where I get my affliction. I still have one of his fishing rods, an old Ted Williams, and a couple of his old lures. Thought it was a pretty cool picture and wanted to share it, problem is I can't get it to load so I sent it to Steve and hopefully he will add it for me.
