Fishing from shore...Thoughts?

I wanted to make a tutorial for first time anglers out there, starting with an easy bobber setup fishing from shore. There was a lot more information than I thought, which is why its a two part video. Would like to hear any recommendations for making this tutorial better (besides it being shorter in time).

Use better floats. The one you're using is a disaster. Go with Euro pole floats or Thill shy bites and mini bites.

Go to Youtube and type in "whip fishing".

don't know about the video as I really don't watch many videos , but to be sure that red and white "bobber" isn't a very good float ...my 2 cents

If you are on the bank and faced with a narrow casting lane or overhead obstruction ... you can use the "dock shooting" method of casting, even if you're using the hook/sinker/float setup. That also allows you to use a longer rod (>5' long) so you can still get a good hookset at a distance. This may not apply to your situation, or the situation you were faced with in the video, but it may be good advice to those members watching them.

And the dock shooting cast can also be used from a boat, when trying to cast your bait under low hanging obstacles or within a narrow lane of open space.
