Chenille size
It's been awhile, but I use to tie my own jigs. Absolutely loved it. Definitely an obsession. My girlfriend's family love to crappie fish, so I'm gonna get back into tying and make some for myself and them. The only thing I don't remember is what number the sizes of chenille means. Like what is the smallest size to largest size and what corresponding jig head size to use with it. Thanks in advance for info. This has always been a great site

Welcome back to the addiction. Chenille sizes go from #0-small up. As for jigheads sizes that's really up to you however I use #0 for 1/32 and smaller, #2 for 1/16-1/4

Smaller the number the the smaller the chenille. Personally I don't use anything smaller then #2 and can tie from 1/48 or even smaller all the way to 1/4 Oz, but do have to double wrap 1/8 and 1/4. However I mostly have started using #3 and for sure if it's what they call New Age because anytime you add Crystal in Chenille it's less dense. Now if I use Crystal it's going to be #10 or #12 as that is what I like and it lays back some when wet so t's not as big as it looks when all spiked looking.
Here is the size chart....
