What about Yucatan?
I know it is tied to the river, so it's going up and down, but I never see posts about fishing there. It is not too far from my camp in Tensas, and I hear good things for time to time, like right now... So, why no reports here?
I also wonder about Poverty Point.. Surely you can catch fish there other than in the Spring, right?
Is it just that there aren't many fishermen in that area of LA that post here? Or, are the other lakes really that much better?
I fish Lake Bruin and never see many there after anything but bass... Strange!

Not sure about Yucatan but soon as we start getting consistent cool nights I'll start fishing poverty. Just waiting on shad to bunch up...

I used to fish it a lot, 25 and falling at the Vicksburg gauge, can catch at pool stage also, just like anywhere sometimes you have huntem and learn the lake. Don't let the lack of post fool you I promise you it gets fished regularly, not too many from that area post. It is a great place to catch some slabs. If you're close to it do yourself a favor and learn it.

That pic on my profile is from YUCATAN

Went to Yucatan yesterday, for my second time, and decided to look the place over... Folks at the landing said to fish the ends of piers, but there are less than a dozen on the right side, and the lake is not very long... Most folks were bass fishing, which I wasn't interested in.. Never had a bite, and left frustrated!

I have often thought that there are very few members of CDC that live in that area

Last report I've seen said that it was slow but the ones being caught were nice ones.

I went to Poverty about two weeks ago. Fished for four and a half hours and never got a bump.:dono
