Water is still fairly warm (70's) and the lake is still at Summer Pool ... so I'd expect cranks or jigs at 15-18ft deep in 20fow to be a good starting point. But, of course that would depend on what area of the lake you're fishing (I'm referring to the Holmes Bend area of the lake). Forecast for that time frame is the high 60's to low 70's (daytime highs) and high 40's to low 50's (night time lows) ... but the water temps probably won't fall much between now & then, because the daily high temps between now & then are still going to be in the 80's.
If you haven't fished the lake before, or recently, you might check out the KDFWR fish attractor locations site : https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer...546499999&z=13 ... complete with GPS coords and what the attractors are made of. (most of them are in about 15fow @ Summer Pool)
I'd tell you more, but I haven't been down there in a few weeks, and those that I know that do fish it regularly are fishing Cumberland Lake as of late.
Thanks for the update.
Lake was 73 degrees Sunday at lunch time. I only caught two crappie, one dink and one 10" keeper. They came out of open water. 18 feet of water fishing 16 feet deep. I was using minnows. I didn't get to fish long, I had my two year old son with me and he was all over the boat. I tried some shallower water 10-12 foot range, not one bite. Lots of bait fish in this range but no takers. I can't wait till cooler weather!
found them sat up creeks 8-10 fow on minners water temp 75
Thanks. I'm thinking the rain and a few cool nights might add color and bring the temp down a little.
