Taylorsville report 9/28/17
My buddy, Paul, and I headed out this AM and did a little jig casting at Taylorsville. End results was 11 keepers, mostly 9" keepers ... but a couple of 11" keepers found their way into the livewell, also.
Water conditions : water looks great as far as color - water temps were 76 - 79deg - lake @ Summer Pool level.
Fish were caught around downed trees and standing trees ... mostly around 8-10ft deep in 10-12fow. The bite was mostly a very pronounced "thump", though a few did just "get heavy".
Fish are still very scattered ... we only got 1 or 2 keepers in any one spot. And we probably caught about as many dinks as keepers.
Settlers Trace parking lot was less than half full ... all day.
These cooler nights should help start the Fall gathering (schooling up).
I didn't think our catch was too shabby considering : moon/sun both up at same time - post frontal conditions - North winds gusting 10-15mph - High Barometric Pressure - clear skies most of the day.
