Lost Waypoints
I have a hummingbird helix 5. I had approximately 50 waypoints of a couple diffrent lakes in my area. I went out of state on a trip and marked more waypoints. Somehow I lost all of my local lake waypoints. Will the unit only hold so many on hard drive? I know backing them up is best option, but trying to figure out what happened to them. I will be backing up on a micro sd card, hummpc is out of the question because I don't have acess to a computer besides work. Thanks Jason

HELIX will hold 2,750 waypoints ...
Did you verify in the waypoint management Menu if the waypoints are in the unit memory ...??
*Press Menu twice to get into the Main Menu System ...
*Cursor over to the Nav tab ...
*Cursor down to Waypoints Routes Tracks ...
*Cursor right to open Waypoint Management ...
Waypoints are listed in the left pane in Waypoint Management ...

Well good news is I only lost 50 or do waypoints. I did look at way point management after Rickies suggestion, but they are gone. I can remeber resetting default settings after I had unit for a month or so. I guess that's when I lost them. I hope this thread helps others to remeber to back up there system.

Resetting defaults shouldn't cause you to loose waypoints in the unit .... only if you delete/format nav data.

Format Nav Directories is right under Restore Defaults under the Setup tab ...
Format Nav Directories does indeed erase the waypoint library ...
Maybe you selected it instead of Restore Defaults ...
