Had a good day. Cought 22, and they were all at about 5ft. I fished upstream with good luck. Water temp was 60, so it won't be long now. Also, when I cleaned the fish, they all had eggs in them.

LR Joe, how far up stream did you all fish? I took my daughter Saturday, mid afternoon around the mouth and it was crazy with boats. I had rather someone sink me neck deep in a tub of water and throw 5 cats on top of me than go back to the Little Maumelle on the first warm Saturday in a boat. My daughter loved it because of all the "big" waves but it wasn't much for fishing. Glad to hear you did well.

Nice catch Joe. Hope you can join us Saturday and duplicate your success.
I think the boats were bad everywhere Saturday. When I pulled out of the Lake Maumelle the parking lot was completely full and they were starting to park on both sides of the road leading up to Hwy 10
Guys, you can cure all of that. I put in at River Valley Bait. It is worth the $2 launch fee, because you can get your minnows, snacks, drinks, and ice all right there. I fish from the bridge down to the end of the boats at River Valley Bait. I saw about 10 boats, but it is so narrow, they have to slow down for you. I don't fish that far down stream, so I don't put in under 430.
If you are not fishing with jigs, where do you guys get your minnows? That is the only close place that I know of.
We usually get our minners at Zimmermans on University. They have the best price and always seem to have roseys. You could also check out Hatchet Jacks on Crystal Hill Rd.Quote:

Nice catch, we fished below dam on saturday out of Burns pARK SAW A LOT ON FINDER BUT THEY WOULD NOT BITE.
Welp, I think that you put the final nail in the coffin. Looks like I'm going to have to start venturing upstream to find some fish on the Little Maumelle. Have you had much trouble with running over the stumps upstream?
Not if you stay in the main stream.
