Help for a friend
Guys, I have a very good friend who bought a Lowrance Elite7HDI depth finder in 2014. Last week while on vacation he slipped and dropped the unit about a foot to the carpeted floor of his boat. The impact caused the screen to crack. It still works just fine.
He called Lowrance to find out how to get the glass replaced and was told that since it is over a year old, he would have to buy a new unit and that they do not offer any repair services other than a warranty exchange.
I am appalled to hear about such poor customer support for a product only 3 years old.
Now that I have vented on his behalf, does anyone know of a company that can replace the screen for him?
Thanks,
Chris

Good ole Lowrance customer service. I have looked and looked, have never found a place to work on them. If it was mine and still worked and you can see it ok, I think I would find and buy a screen protector and install it over the screen. I have taken some lowrance S apart and they are a nightmare inside. Only other choice would be to try and find a dead one and swap the screen. Or go on eBay and see if he could find one.
