My nephew came out for a visit from California last week. He and I used to fish quite often back when he was a young fellow. Now he's a oil refinery manager and doing quite well for himself. It's was an honor when he emailed me requesting a fishing trip while he was in town for business. I certainly had a seat in the boat for him, so Thursday morning we set out on a mission to catch enough for a family gathering, and fish fry. The day started quite breezy, and the bite was slow. Around 11:00 am the winds laid down and the fish turned on. We were jigging a variety of brush, both deep and shallow. Along with and grass and lilies we could find in the right water depth. Some really quality fish were caught in both our limits. Including 5 over two pounds, with big fish going to him, and pictured on top in the cooler that weighed in at 2.5 pounds, and was the last fish of the day.
