Use it on most all my spinning outfits for both crappie and bass. Almost never use it on the baitcasters though.
I use it on all casting and spinning reels, for Bass, not for crappie.
I do ... two of my three 14' rods have braid on them as the main line (baitcast reels) ... and one spinning outfit that I sometimes use for casting heavier baits for Crappie.
Use it for everything.
For pulling crankbaits
I hate it....lol. tried it many times and can't justify the advantage. I know it's supposed to be so much more sensitive, but I don't buy in. I don't mind losing a jig, versus snapping my rod.

Yeah, ya gotta loosen up that drag just a bit before you go rippin lips with braid !! Or you could always tie on a short leader of lesser pound test mono. It's got its pros/cons for sure !!
When I'm casting with the one outfit with braid on the reel ... I don't actually "jerk" the rod to set the hook. I just keep reeling and pull back on the rod, moving the tip about a foot. That's yet to fail to securely push the hook into the roof of their mouths, whether using a jig, Roadrunner, or Whirly Bee. The rod I'm using is a 7' IM8 Bionic Blade ... so even if I WAS using mono, I still wouldn't have to set the hook all that hard. The reel is a Shimano Spirex 2000 ... with drag set to slip before the rod is loaded half way.
I am switching all my reels over to power pro braid. I quit using braid many years ago and have recently tried it again and I think they have improved it. I will be putting depth hunter series on all my crankin outfits and setting the drag light and easing into a hook set are very good tips to follow.

Braid on reels for pulling/pushing jigs and cranks.
