Thanks Funbun,thats pretty much how I preserved my fish when living in the Yukon,except I ate it instead of fishing with it.

Going to give it a shot, how long do the fish last?

I once had salted chicken livers on my boat for 13 months, and it was still in good condition.

13 months is 1 month past my taste test time table :puke:puke

Fortunately the catfish still love it! It doesn't stink even after 13 months.
