I just cut some pin oak limbs around the yard and was wondering what would be the best way to sink them? Do I need to let the leaves come off first? Do I put them in buckets and cement and sink, or do I tie them in bunches and sink with rocks?

To me sticking 5-6 branches in a bucket-o-cement would be the easiest. And it's not that expensive.. 3 gal buckets and a couple bags of cement...
What he said lol, i just cut down and trimmed the yard and for 1 $6 bag of cement i was able to fill 3 2 gallon buckets full. Now just have to figure out how to make it to stand up without falling over
Try putting legs out horizontal on buckets or floats on top . I build them wide as possiable and don't worry if they fall over .Quote:

I use 2 pieces of rebar in an X through the bottom of the bucket...I seal the hole with putty so the 'crete doesnt leak out....then I use chicken wire to hold my limbs in place until the concrete drys.Quote:

Good looking stuff, Intimidator. Thanks for the idea on the chicken wire too! I always struggle to find stuff to hold the limbs up. I must add in case others use this idea, if you go to Lowes, you better ask for "poultry mesh" or the kids working there won't know what you're talking about! I needed some to keep my dog from digging out under my fence years ago and that's when I learned it was no longer called chicken wire. :dono
