I am running a Helix 9 G2N chirp si, along with a terrova T/M. I have mine running the transducer that came with the unit. If memory serves me correct the US2 is only a 2D ducer. Nothing else. You can put a very nice ducer mount from Podunk which he is a member here on CDC. I have the ss model that I modified to run two ducers, and on top a GPS puck. My unit is mounted at the bow with a "D" model ram mount. Works very good.Attachment 272102Attachment 272103Attachment 272102Attachment 272104
The US2 in the Terrova is 83/200kHz ...
You can choose HB 83/200kHz and utilize basic 83kHz and 200kHz ...
Or you choose the CHIRP choices centered around the 83kHz and 200kHz and utilize sweep frequency technology ...
Which is best is determined by water conditions, bottom composition, witchcraft, etc ...
Experiment to see which gives satisfactory results for the given conditions that day ...

Thanks Dave! Thanks Rickie!
I had thought about one of your (Rickie's) transducer mounts. I get in and out of the boat on the starboard side of the bow. Where the Terrova is mounted (Port side where the ducer is mounted on Dave's boat) and where I get in and out I couldnt see a way for me to get safely in and out.
You can have your pipe as short or long as you want. My T/M is center mounted. The pole or pipe is 3/4 steel electrical conduit from Home Depot. 10 foot cut to what I want. I have bent it up several times. I drilled and tapped for a set screw in sachets of the fittingd. The fittings are standard pipe from Home Depot also. I spider rig and with this set up I can see my jigs running at what depth.

Or go to Precision Sonar and get their cable guard and mount a good transducer on the trolling motor. Throw the US2 away. I use the large original transducer for my Helix 10 Mega and it works great.
