I've thought for a long time about some sort of "charity" that gives away used fishing items. I hate going in my shop and seeing things I know will never get used. I've given lots of poles to people getting started striper fishing. I'm sure I'm not the only one with a shelf full of old reels. Or a drawer full of line, or lures. Plus some of us that have owned boats for decades have that king of stuff too.
Reeldawg, I have been taking rod/reels up to Operation North State - Home , they have a guy that will fix them up and give them to Veterans with Disabilities or Wounded Warriors. anything fishing related is welcome. It's all none profit with zero admin costs, all the money goes to events for the VetsQuote:
