Lake Nocona?

Hiya fellas, I'm somewhat new here and have really enjoyed reading these forums. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had ever fished Lake Nocona in the north east part of the state. The reason I ask is that is where I'm moving to in the next month or so. Retiring and moving to Texas for the fishing and peacefulness. Thanks!!

I have no clue about that lake, actually never heard of it, but I don't get above Toledo Bend since I live on this lake. However there are a lot of lakes you can fish including some good ones! Just looked at the map and your going to be close to DFW so should find plenty of lakes around you.

Don't know that lake , but it might be a good spot , try looking at the tpw website about it ....they are pretty informative about the lakes in Texas most of the time

Thanks for the info! I'm looking forward to moving down there and retirement. Also I have been doing some reading on Lake Ray Roberts, Texoma, and Arrowhead. Again, thanks!

Not close, but not all that far is Lake Fork, but it's East of Dallas! There are a lot of water not too far from you.

The other 3 lakes hold good numbers of fish and texoma and arrowhead have some real large specimens in them , there are some other spots in the same general area that are nice as well , Amon carter and some of the smaller stuff around the national grasslands are good visits as well at times

If you go all the way to Texoma, I would make sure to fish LOP (Lake O' the Pines). I see guys doing great there and a lot!

I'm looking forward to fishing the different lakes down there. I really appreciate the advice. Another one I have been told not to ignore is Waurika, up in Oklahoma. I'll be down in Texas next week signing on the house and doing a bit of looking at lakes. Thanks again guys!

The area your moving to is relatively laid back and should meet the needs of retirement and good fishing. Welcome to the retired ranks and have a safe move.
