Fiskar scissors - thought I would share

I was on the search for a better way to cut braided line, read some threads in a search and some guys were posting about Fiskar scissors in the kid section at Walmart. Today I was there and searched for them, I found them in the back to school section with about 20 mom's and 30 kids. Got my hands on a pair and they work great, not sure how long they will last but they cut braided line like butter with no fraying.

Been recommending them for several years. I like the Child Size, because they fit easily into a plastic tray/tackle box. They should last for many years, and even if they don't last for more than a few years ... at their price (~ $2 ) they're easily replaceable with little crying from your wallet.

I also recommend a 6" piece of wooden dowel rod ... to use to wrap your braid around to pull a snagged bait loose. Braid can cut your hand/fingers, and even foam or cork rod handles, if you use them. I've already experienced that mistake (using 10/2 PowerPro) !!

I cannot use the "kiddie" scissors, as the finger holes are too small. I have a couple pairs of the Repala scissors made specifically for braid. I have them tethered to a short piece of broomstick with para-cord to pull snags.

Fiskars craft scissors are actually of better quality, still the same small form factor and are crazy sharp. I've had the same two pairs for 3-4 years and they still haven't needed sharpening. Look for them in the craft section of your local big box or a hobby lobby type store.
