Did very well today at Lil' Maumelle. Not the river, but the spillway off of hwy.300. Caught a limit on balck/white jigs 12-15" deep around the edge of brush.
Fish had eggs but not quite ready yet. They ought to be hot all this week.

Hey Dennis, good to hear a report from you. It sounds like you had an outstanding afternoon in the shallow water. I thought it was too early to find many shallow, but maybe I need to check it out more soon. Were you bank fishing or is there a place to launch a boat by the spillway?
I might head that way, daf. What kind of black/white jigs were you using?
Hey thanks for the post. Heading to Maumelle in the morning and I will try and run a few more over the spillway and down your way.
Keep those sweet post comming and take a few pics next time.
There is a launch there but do not launch a big boat. 14' foot max. Tight line with Black/White with red underside the tail skirts. "Blood Bait" is what I call it.
Launch right off 300 go to the right, all the way down to the spill way. Back from the spillway about 100 yds, fish both banks at the edge of the brush about 12-15" deep. Bass Assasin' heads, silver in color with red eyes. 6lb test line.
You will be in the action!!!!!!
