All of the fishing I have done and enjoy I have not used spider or lindy rigs. I fished a few days ago on a local lake and the fish on the finder showed them suspended 18-25 feet but no mater what jig I used no bites. I have been thinking of using either spider rigs or Lundy rigs how do you rig them minnows, jogs or what is your tip?

Pull some crankbaits over them! Pink or chartreuse Arkies or Bandits. od luck!

Spider rig might work with jig tipped with a minnow and a crappie nibble (that's for Chaunc) but I would tend to move a little faster than the average spider rigger to try to get reaction bites, 0.7-0.9mph. That's going to require a heavier weight, say 3/4-1oz. Be sure to keep your lures at the top level of the fish or slightly above them.

The tactic I described is known as power trolling by some. For fish that are actually that deep, you are going to have to use some tactic that involves heavy weight and vertical presentation unless you use some of the advanced trolling gear like Dipsy Divers, Jet Divers, Tadpoles, etc. For a newbie, you will do best to stick to basics to start.
