I pilot
My trolling motor was 20 years old...still working but the foot control was getting a bit unreliable .....checked out new motors, sent some emails to sellers on line, and decided on the I Pilot....tried it out this pass week on Lake Wylie with my grandson. Really didn't know what to expect just read the instructions, put it in the water and turned on the remote control....I can't believe that I used the old motor as long as I had.....the technology of that old motor is a T model to an Indy racer.........found my self having fun and playing with the remote to see if the motor responded to all the commands......it did....threw out buoy marker and then selected the stay in place button ....really surprised how the unit kept the boat on the marker...didn't very 2 feet in 45 minutes of trial.....wind was at 8-10 mph.....the boat is 20 feet and weighs 2500 plus lbs not counting the gas.........not recommending anything......just commenting on how the market has changed on these tools in 20 years.......

I am still in the stone ago as far as trolling motors go also. Can't make myself cough up the extra money when stone wheel still works like new.

The newer units keep you way closer than even mine that's a couple years older. The more you use it the more you'll like it.
Now just remember that you are out there to fish not play with the troller

One of the best pieces of equipment ever made for fishing from a boat. Congrats on the new unit.

They are the cat's meow. I love my ultera and if it gave up the ghost I would replace it ASAP.

I have the Ultrex , unbelievable how technology has advanced on Trolling motors

My anchor hasn't seen water more than a handful of times since I got my terrova

Some of the best times fishing was on anchor lock. I like my Terrova and my new Ulterra I pilot/link/ Bluetooth on the pontoon. Wished I had one a long time ago. Really changed fishing for me!:highfive

what kind of secret do y'all know on that anchor lock that I don't
I have an ulterra with anchor lock, it does keep me in the city limits
but not on any particular block. cant say I'm really pleased with what it does.
any way to adjust it? or just take what you got and go with it.

The first time I used the spot lock it didn't do what I though it should.....what I had done was push the anchor symbol when the boat was moving about 3 miles per hour...the spot lock reversed the trolling motor and headed back along the path I was on but it didn't stop per the sonar where I had wanted....I did the whole thing over but this time I slowed the boat to creep and depressed the ancho symbol when the sonar was over the spot .....spot lock held this position to within 2 feet in a wind etc per my first post.
