I do it in the summer time in a few different areas and I bump along around .5. Seems to be about what they like. This isn't my favorite way to catch em. Tends to find brush tops quickly

My low speed when trolling is about 1.1, so I would have to have some weight n the front ones.
At .5 mph, you would need a 1,2, 0r 3oz weight. I do it with cranks and jigs. I works.
Much too fast, most of the time....IMO[QUOTE=Oldyankee;3444402]Anybody doing this?

I push and pull 3/4 oz weight with 1/16-4 oz jig head on a 15 inch leader with 2 inch curly tails at .5-.6 MPH. The baits stay down at the desired depth and the tails swim with action. If the baits do not have swimming action-no fish.
At the same time I push small crank baits such as the Bittsy Pond Minnow with a 2 oz weight off the front of the boat. We have mostly Black Crappie and the smaller baits at slow speeds seem to work best for them.

I have pulled baits behind the boat suspended under slip corks at slow speeds (.2-.4) when I had extra guests out spider rigging with me. I have done this with my young daughter too, since she still has trouble seeing some of the lite bites on the rod tips.
