Nothing "real close" ... but these lakes are the closest I could find via Google Maps.
Camp Ernst Park Lake (NW of Union, Ky)
Bullock Pen
Boltz Lake
Williamstown Lake (all three are South of Union, Ky and off I-75)
I don't know anything about these lakes, and have only fished at Williamstown Lake a couple of times in my life (and that was more than 50yrs ago).
Thanks: must not be to much, know one else posted
I live a couple miles from Union, KY. There's not a lot of great reservoirs in Northern Kentucky.
Bullock Pen and Boltz are closest, for crappie. But crappie run small in these lakes. Another is AJ Jolly in Alexandria. Smaller crappie here too but I've caught bigger ones on average.
By far the best crappie fishing in Union is the Ohio River tributaries. Big Bone and Gunpowder. These are creeks that both have nice launching ramps in Union. Trixie's Marina and booneslanding (booneslanding.net). They charge $5 to launch.
There are lots of average crappie caught there, but chances are higher of catching large crappie here than anywhere else close by. I typically catch many 12+" crappie and several 13-14" crappie throughout an entire season. A 14" crappie is not the typical crappie, but on every cast I know it's possible and that's what makes it fun.
Bad news is with the heavy rains today, these are going to be probably be high and muddy until mid next week.
Good luck

You're right mbk ... but the creeks aren't the only places that will be high & muddy !!
Yes. It's probably high and muddy everywhere this weekend.
And flytier -don't get me wrong - if you're with young kids and want to just catch a ton of fish and don't mind them being small, you can catch a ton of smaller crappie at Boltz and Bullock Pen. At Bullock Pen, if you put in at the ramp by the store and drift/troll along the nearby bank where the road comes down, you can catch so many 7.5" crappie your arms will get tired. But there's just no size in those smaller lakes.
