Thinking about purchasing a Garmin Stryker 7SV and wondering if anyone has used one. If so, pros and cons? Thanks.

I can't speak for the Stryker but last Christmas I purchased an Echomap 93SV Chirp. Here's my take on this unit. The traditional sonar is AWESOME! Downview is good, Sideview, not so much. If you are wanting a unit to use mostly for side imaging, I'd go with a Humminbird. If you want a unit mostly for down imaging, then I'd go with a Lowrance. If you mostly rely on traditional sonar then the Garmins are top notch. I hope others can chime in about the Stryker unit.
I bought a Striker 7SV last Christmas and am just now starting to learn about it's GPS Waypoint system. It doesn't have the mapping feature, but it is less expensive than the mapping system units. Also, you can't download GPS waypoints from the AGFC website (or I haven't learned to do that!). I can't compare it to Hummingbird, etc., because I haven't used theirs, but it's a pretty good unit for the price. The traditional view is a lot better than my old Garmin. One feature it has is that the mounting system fits both hull and trolling motor; I understand Hummingbird's trolling motor mount costs extra.
I have 2 of the 93 sv chirp Echomap units I have been using for little over a year. I switched from HB and I have also used Lowrance in the past . The Garmin has the Best Sonar in my opinion of the other two the Down Image on the Garmin is great in Deeper water but only average in shallower water the side image is i don't think is as good as the other two . The Garmin and HB is more user friendly than the Lowrance!!! All three are great units !! Only thing I
Would recommend is get the LARGEST screen you can !!!!
