I went fishing for a few hours Saturday morning and I bet I saw 50 crappie floating dead on the surface. Most were shorts but a few were nice keepers. Any ideas about what the deal is? I was fishing in the Robinson creek area.

I have been seeing these as well. It happened after the lake flooded and then they sucked it back down to summer pool. I was fishing there again today and am not seeing any new ones but did see the same ones you probably saw on Saturday and Sunday.
Could have had something to do with the flooding, or it could have been simply someone's catch that died/spoiled in the livewell and got dumped. If it was a localized event, I'd suspect the latter. But, if it happened in several other areas of the lake, then it could have been associated with the high water event. :dono It's hard to tell, seeing as how "short fish" were involved !!
A lot of the fish are 5"-7". Only saw a few that would have been keepers. I have saw them from Robinson creek to Stone quarry. But the most was around the cut through on the smith ridge side.
i didnt see but a coulpe around holmes bend today
How was the bite at Holmes Bend? We caught several good fish on the smith ridge end today on brush piles. I almost went to Holmes Bend to put in but at the last second went to Smith Ridge.
Saturday I pulled cranks as well and managed 12 keepers. But once I saw the muddy water and trash floating at the cut through. We left and headed toward Corbin's point. Caught about 18-20 total. Some short fish and a catfish. Was decent for the conditions I suppose with the lake so high.
