while traveling down the hwy as I had it hanging in my boat. I have found them for 3 bux but shipping is 8 bux and may wind up having to go that route but just hate to pay almost 3 times cost of cover just in shipping. Hoping someone might a spare or old defective remote that they would sell the cover off of.

Larry, get in touch with Minkota. They have a updated back and screw in cover for that remote. They had a problem with the ears on the battery cover breaking and not holding it on properly.
Wow. I called couple months ago and the gewber said they didn't sell that individual part anymore. Will call back

that is where I found the cover, was like 2,95 and then 9 for shipping. just hated to pay triple just because of shipping but may not have any choice
