Well, envision the day when everything possible went wrong, cause that is what happened.. The wifey was late for work, and held me back from getting to the lake until 8:30. After launching, I passed a bunch of boats in the main channel just south of 43, and witnessed a guy landing what had to be the largest Crappie I have ever seen caught there. But, I was on my way to my spot, and figured it had to be happening there too...Then, when I got to where I was planning to fish, the trolling motor said "NO!!!"... After about 30 minutes, I managed to figure out that a connection was bad up under the front deck, and in a place I could barely reach. So I rigged, and I do mean rigged, a bypass, and dropped the jigs overboard. The first hit caught me off guard, and I missed it... About an hour later, I had one hit again, and the reel wasn't locked in, so you know what that meant. Now, all of this time the wind had been great, and I probably should have moved, but I was determined to catch something there...
An hour later, I realized the folly of that thinking, and moved to another spot, but it was just not to be... And, about that time the wifey was calling to tell me that her mother was headed our way on Friday, and I needed to come home and help her get the guest room in order, which coincidentally is where I keep a lot of gear... So, I reluctantly left the lake, and decided that it just wasn't supposed to happen today!

Dang Clifford, bad fishing and a mother in law visit, what did you do to anger the gods?? Just kidding, hate the trip went badly, like they say a bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work!! Doesn't look I will get to fish anytime soon in the near future with work load and nasty weather predicted this weekend. :(

It was a good day....you got "yard Leave" from the wife to go.....you got there safely....no safety incidents on the water...saw one huge fish caught.....got home safely.....wife helps you clean up your tackle.....you are Blessed....

Better be glad she told you to come help her! Mine would just have thrown all my gear in the garbage, lol.

After a squirrely trip and a mother-in law visit I'd say you are gonna have 2-3 unbelievably good days fishin.You can start lookin forward to them right now..Flat wear them out...Try not to get tendonitis from hoggin em in....

It was a gorgeous day to be on the water. And, I met an old friend at the landing, who was launching as I pulled up to leave. So, yes, not a total loss. But, a no fish day still sucks!
