I am super close to Percy Priest and went out on it for a few mins this weekend, but not to fish..Just to stroll around for a bit. I am interested in getting the boat on it and doing some crappie fishing. Anyone crappie fish PP often that could give some pointers to a PP newb?
There's a good population of crappie in JPP. I fish it quite a bit, don't always do real good, but catch enough to keep me going back. I usually troll crank baits on 4 rods and jigs on 2 poles. This time of year I usually find the crappie in 12 to 25 FOW and usually follow the contour lines around the coves. I look on the sonar to see what depth I am marking fish at and try to troll my lures accordingly. Good luck with it, and post some pics when you go and catch some.
