My uh oh moment
I decided on the Lowrance Elite 5 ti for the kayak. Today being a rare day off from work, we head to the sporting goods store to pick up my new toy and some other goodies I needed to finish rigging out the kayak. We ate lunch wentry to a few more stores and headed home. I head out to put on the anchor trolley and finish the tackle crate. I decided to take a look and the depth finder to figure out mounting locations and what I will need, opened the box and :yikes, no depth finder, just the transducer and cables and the cover. My heart sank. The sales guy was looking for the display box so I could have a look at the transducer, he couldn't find it. Mystery solved I found the display box. Talked with the Team Leader over the hunting and fishing section and she was very cooperative, the girlfriend will take it back for me tomorrow since I will be at work. Hopefully everything will go smoothly.

I did open the box. The first one that was beat up. So I asked for the one that wasn't beat up looking, in my haste I did not open that one. Open the box is sage advice.

Hope everything works out for you in the long run. I would probably have had a heart attack myself if that had happened to me. Good luck with rigging the Kayak and I will be looking forward to seeing your fishing reports and pictures.

Academy made it good. What went in my favor is the box has a serial number on it and that number matched the unit on display. So it's on with the installation and hope to be on the water soon.
