I just moved to the Aiken SC area. Looking for some good crappie spots. I have heard that Clark Hill is great, but looking for some spots a little closer to the house.
Thanks for any help. :pray

So far as I know there is not anything closer to Aiken. The Georgia little river is excellent during the fall thre spring. The sc little river is good to during the same period. Don't know anything about summer time fishing over there except night fishing under bridges is good and brush pile fishing in 20 to 30 ft of water is good. Somebody else will chime in with some more help.
I ran across this lake on the SC DNR website and was thinking about trying it but I understand the dam had some work going on and it was drawn down. I don't know what the current status is. If you get a chance, take a look and let us know what condition it is in now.
Langley Pond
Welcome aboard David. Hope you can get situated and find a fishing hole. Only thing I know about Aiken is about deer hunting at the old bomb dump at the Savanah River Site. Maybe some time later you may want to come up this way and fish with us some time, you'd be welcome to join in. Keep us posted on what you find out. Again welcome!:highfive
Im in Aiken too so i can tell you it's slim pickings when it comes do decent fishing here unless you know people who live in the southside subdivisions and give you permission to fish the lakes/ponds there. Or folks out in the country with ponds.
Langley pond has a Mercury warning so if you're trying to catch fish to eat id be careful. You can read the advisories on the scdhec website.
We have Boyd Pond off of Silver Bluff Road that supposedly stocked by the dnr but is weedy as all get out and Aiken State Park. Slade Lake in Edgefield is sometimes decent but you can only fish there wed sat and sunday.
Honestly taking the trip to clarks hill or lake murray would be your best bet unless you know people

I am from Rock Hill. I believe I have fished in a couple of the outings with you all. I will be fishing in Lake Wylie on and off. That is my favorite fishing lake.
