Cane Creek Park Union County 5/26

Wife and I hit the water about 8:30.
The day started out rough, the cranking battery was dead,a year old and zippo, I pulled the auxillary battery and put that in place. Got on the water and realized I left the jig bag at home, I scratched up enough jigs to put 6 rods out and used the minnows. Then I realized that the Fish finder wouldn't work on the aux batt the depth and water temp doesn't show up on the hand held unless the FF is workingJigs and minnows preformed about the same, the color of choice was the color I had.
By 1pm we had caught 35 crappie 2 catfish and 2 large mouth,I had 2 sets of doubles gave them to a couple guys trying hard to get a fish fry together for 18 people, they weren't doing too well and didn't listen when I told them where to fish.
There's a story about a horse and water there some where.

Glad a bad start ended up well. 35 crappie I say a great day.

Good going Grady. Your wife out fish you again? Were you tight lining or longlining? You had a great day, it was better than working I know! You going to deplete the lake if you keep this up.:Rofl

Going there in the morning. Plan on bringing 3 of my little boys. Sounds like a stop for some minnows are in order. Hopefully you left a couple for me. I like how a bad day turned into lots of fish for you and wife. Thanks for the report.

Linda only caught a few, her shoulder was hurting so she read and operated the clicker.
It was a nice day on the water

Sometimes the best day comes, when it starts out tough. Looks like you had a very good outcome, congratulations...!
