Grandpa Pro - do you have any suggestions to help young aspiring crappie anglers to fish the trees. Jacob can handle a 10' Ozark in open water like the pool but struggled in close quarter combat in the trees. I'm sure it has something to do with his teacher, but do you have any recommendations on gear and approach. Jacob and I appreciate your assistance.
Put the Little guy infront of you on the deck, put your pole down and guide him with him only fishing into the tight shady pockets where you know fish should be holding. Talk to him about keeping the tip just off the surface and check his depth. i also will put him up front quickly if I have a spot they are hammering it in numbers. Ohh and I almost forgot watch his line and rod tip. Cant tell you how many strikes you will detect before he does, by just watching and telling him when to jerk the rod. Good Luck.
