Clarksville TN area
A friend of mine just moved to Clarksville and is looking for some lakes to fish for bream, crappie, and catfish.
He does not have a boat so will need to fish from the bank or fishing docks/piers....or....he may rent a boat if the lake offers that option.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you.

Kentucky and Barkley lakes offer hundred of areas a bank fisherman can utilize. They each have dozens of marinas where boats can be rented for half or full days. A couple of closer examples would be Barkley state park. It's has plenty of bank area to fish from the marina area plus can rent boats. Or drive past that turn off and cross the bridge over lake Barkley and turn immediately right and go to Energy lake. He can fish the lake dam. One side of the dam he can fish energy lake and on the opposite side fish lake Barkley. And kentucky lake has even more lake area coverage. He can come over the bridge at Dover and be at Paris, TN at the State lodge and marina there. From there he had big sandy to roam around.
Each lake had secondary ramps where bank fishing can be had on a lot of the bays. Also obtain a Lbl map and study the roads that lead to the lakes and often they end in a point where bank fishing can be completed. Often these will have fire rings where others have fished and camped. He has more options he can fish in a lifetime on, in my opinion, the best lake system in the nation.

You might check out ParisLanding.com. Steve McAdams puts out a pretty good fishing report.

Try cross creeks in cumberland city, you can step over the guard rails where the bridges are at and throw your bait as close to the middle columns as you can , ive caught crappie at those 2 bridges all the time.
