Power trolling jigs question

I decided to post this here cause I know it's a popular technique for some of y'all. My main question is this. Do y'all generally prefer to power troll with double or single jig rigs? I understand covering more of the water column with double rigs, but for those of you who do use double rigs, do you see a noticeable difference in the numbers of fish you're catching? I guess I'm just looking for justification to not go to the extra trouble of tying and dealing with the double jig rigs if it's not necessary. I plan on using mostly Road runners, what size heads and what size sinkers do y'all prefer to use? I'm thinking 2oz sinker and 1/8 or 1/4 oz heads. Just for clarification, when I say power trolling, I'm talkin bout 1-2 mph. Thanks in advance guys.

The two help find fish easier, if you're dialed in on them the single jig is almost as productive. Still feel better having two down there

Go for 2 oz and at least 1/8 oz head roadrunner

Do you tie your double rigs Capps and Coleman style or with the sinker at the bottom with the jigs above?

Have run both, prefer Capps style

Prefer the lead on the bottom, much easier to change weights. I start off at .7 mph to .9 with 1 oz. If they're not hitting I go faster with heavier led. You can use straight 2 oz or heavier all the way. I just like the feel I get from the lighter weight if I can get by with it.

My simple rule of thumb is :
0.0-0.5 = 1/2oz (1/4 if really shallow-3/4 if really deep)

.5-1ish= 1oz

1-2=1.5oz

All else is 2oz

You can do it with less changing around for sure, but sometimes I like to be complicated, hahaha. That and I had all these weights still laying around.

I just got some 3's to try pushing cranks this year.

Haven't done it in years but 3oz weights on bottom 2 single hooks above with slip knots. Cheap and simple. Go fast and make turns on a dime. Lines will stay vertical.
