Are you releasing them on total freespool or is there a friction wheel to slow the decent? If not controllable, the only suggestion would be to release the spool while feeding the line, by hand, as the anchor descends. I'm most sure the cause of your problem is over-run, similar to what bass fishermen experience with baitcasting reels. But I could be wrong? :)
Just a thought,
Look in your owner's manual to see if you are using the recommended line.Beyond that give customer service a call- they want you to be happy.Good Luck
Yes over run is the problem. I'm working on some different ideas. Just hoping some one had already beat this animal
I changed the rope to a larger diameter one on mine.
Hello: Do you have too much rope on the spool ? I've owned 3 of them and never had that trouble. Good Luck . O - R
I have the factory amount of rope. It's about 1" down n spool when full.
If I remember right my nephew has 2 on his boat to let his anchor out you have to use the down switch. Once on bottom let go of button, wait until the boat starts to drift away from the anchor and only then let out more line bumping the switch.
Can you fashion a retainer similar to the one around a riding mower pulley?
Simply a bolt that prevents the rope from jumping off the pulley.
