It can be done. I've used lots of different rods pushing, and I use 4oz, most of these rods will load up a lot even with 2oz and a crank. I don't get hung up on rod bend, when you get a fish it'll still bury up good.

PSTs are rated to 5 oz...They will load up...I very seldom use over 3
They were tested with 5 oz weights

Greg, if you have a partner the heavier weights work better. I found fishing by myself that 2 oz and the long leader on 12 ft PST is all I can handle with the net. 1 oz of weight makes a big difference when it gets to whipping around between rod tip and fish.
They can handle it.

Yep, and a 10 & 8...talked to Ed the other day..He doesn't think there is much demand except for down in this area for the heavies
