Waypoints missing
I have a HB859 on the bow and a HB899 on the console of my boat. They are ether netted together. I have noticed that if I don't have both units on, a lot of the waypoints that were marked on the 899 do not show up on the 859. If I turn on the 899, the waypoints will suddenly appear on the 859. Is this the way they are supposed to work?
How should I get the missing waypoints loaded into the 859 so I don;t have to run the 899 all the time?
Also, do both units have to be turned on for newly marked waypoints to show up on both units at the time I hit the "mark" button?

I know you can download them on a SD card and then load them on the other unit. Maybe someone can tell you how to save the waypoint from the other unit. I just turn the sonar to off position on the other unit by pressing the on off button the screen comes up to change backlight setting and background color as well as sonar(transducer) on off button. This way the waypoints and mapping is still working but the sonar(transducer) is not on interfering with the other unit but the waypoints are all on both units.

HB core units create waypoints in the internal memory of the unit that created the waypoints ...
Other units on the network can "see" and "display" those waypoints (as long as the unit that created the waypoint is powered on and "Waypoint Sharing" is enabled in the Networking tab) ...
As scrat mentions, waypoints can be exported to a SD card and imported into the other unit memory ...

so, how do you export the way points to the SD card ? Once done, just stick the card in the other unit and it will automatically store them when it is turned on? Thanks for the help....

You will need to come up with a system of waypoint management that works for you ...
If you export waypoints from unit A and import those waypoints into unit B on Monday ...and then on Friday export waypoints from unit A and import those waypoints into unit B ...
You now have duplicates of all waypoints up thru the previous Monday on unit B ...
-----
There is the option in the Waypoint Management menu to organize the waypoints by "Newest" and then select just those new waypoints to export from unit A ...but you have to keep up with when the last export was so that only new waypoints are exported ...

So, if you just "download all" will it only pic up the waypoints that are not duplicated? Is there a date range for the "newest" or how does the unit know what is newest and how far back does it look for the newest?

*Press Menu twice to get into the Main Menu System ...
*Cursor over to the Nav tab ...
*Cursor down to Waypoints, Routes, Tracks ...
*Cursor right to open Waypoint Management ...
At the top left there is a box that says "Sort By" ...
Change the "Sort By" selection to "Newest" to arrange your waypoints by newest ...
Then :
*Cursor to "Options" ...
*Cursor right to open the options Menu ...
*Cursor to "Select Multiple and..."
*Cursor down to highlight a waypoint ...
*Cursor right to select that waypoint ...(It will turn blue...and information about that waypoint will show at the right - including showing the waypoint on the small map at the top right) ...
Once the waypoints are selected you want to export ...:
*Cursor up to "Export Selected" ...
*Cursor right to command export ...
*Select Yes in the green popup confirmation box ...
