Put in on Smithville this am at W and went north. Almost got a limit plus a channel that I thought was going to break my little crappie pole. Got all fish in one spot, water temp was 70, and they were backed off the bank about 10'. Rough ride back to W. Happy Mothers Day all.Attachment 266092

I'm thinking about heading up there in the morning if the winds have calmed. I haven't fished Smithville since I sold my pontoon about 9 years ago. Were you jigging or minnows? Anything to look for as far as type of banks you were fishing? Not asking you to tell me where you were fishing just kind of looking for some advice on some where to start. I can only fish for about three hours in the morning so

I was using just plain road runner heads with blk/prpl grub/chart curlytail seemed to work best for me. I got skunked the first three hours, at least with the road runners you can cover more water, and if you find a spot and wear it out, and then go back and hit it about 30 mins. later. Good luck to you.
