I moved from BR a good while back, but my daughter and six year old grand daughter still live there, and I promised to take them fishing. I know the baby isn't going to be in for a whole day on the road or water, so I need some place close by where we can launch the boat, and let her catch a few bream... I used to fish False River, way back when they still had grass there, but never hear much about that any more... Any suggestions?

Attakapas landing on the south end of Lake Verrett is about an hour away....from Hwy 1 at Napoleonville, take Hwy 401 west to the landing....I have not fished False River in years....not many do....most places affected by the rise of the Mississippi River/Atchafalaya River are experiencing high water right now....like Old River (Morganza) and Henderson...one of our guys (Jig Rig) regularly fishes the rivers East of BR....Tickfaw, Tchefuncte....
