How does Wilson Lake rank for shooting docks? Is it fair, worse, excellent? I know there are quite a few docks off all over the place backwater, main channel, creeks, ect
Thinking about going over there at some point in the future.

Well I haven't seen any reports of anyone ever shooting docks on Wilson. In my experience all lakes have some docks that hold crappie so give it a try you never know. I would look for deeper dock this time of year close to a chanal

No experience at this technique at all but I have heard of some guys having good luck in Shoals Creek doing it.
Dockshooting is great. Always some tournament team shots docks on Wilson I am not a dock shooter but fish Wilson a lot. Wilson has some real big fish. Just hard to fish because of the death. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
I fish Wilson all the time 2-3 times a week. Its Deep! Crappie hold year round on deep cover. Find docks with 30 fow and brush you will find fish. The lower end is better than the upper end for the majority of the year. The lake is 6 miles from Wilson Dam to Wheeler dam and half of the lake is over 30 feet deep. Fish will hold on cover from 20-40 feet year round.
I have a facebook page that show my pics from the lake. https://www.facebook.com/northalabamacrappiereports/
