Caddo Lake 5/6/17
It's been a while since I was able to contribute a fishing post. Haven't been able to go much this year, but today was too beautiful to pass up, so the list of 'chores' had to wait. My daughter and I headed out to Caddo this morning and fished around cypress trees in 4-5 feet of water. We didn't catch a ton, but we made up for it with quality (as Cajun Dave likes to say!) :biggrin We were fishing shiners 2 ft under a cork, and occasionally red worms for bream.
Natalie managed to put the first fish in the boat today, and was pretty excited about it. She usually just bream fishes so this was quite a bit bigger than what she normally catches

I nabbed the second one, and biggest of the day shortly after.

As mentioned, not many, but we were happy with what we ended up with...4 crappie, 1 catfish, and 3 bream.

And plenty of dinner for the whole family. This was most of the fish while the last batch was cooking. Can't beat fish direct from lake to plate!

You've got it figured out perfectly Scott, just the right amount of fish to clean, cook, and eat.

Thanks all. I forgot to mention, but 2 of the crappie had eggs in them which I thought was very strange. They were very small and no close to being ready to lay. Have you been catching any lately that haven't spawned yet?

Sure that wasn't the remnant?.....eggs
