Bucksaw Campground CLOSED

Just got a call from Bucksaw. The campground is closed at 6PM Friday account high lake level. No camping. (They cancelled my site reservation and credited the fee back) They are closing it because the sewage lift stations will discharge directly into the lake if not shut down. Also, the launch ramp is closed now.
Kinda kills spring crappie camp. :dono

I got a call from a CDC member who said the lake is in pretty good shape debris-wise at Bucksaw for now. I passed over the lake on the way to Springfield and back on Hwy. 13 yesterday. There were big rafts of trees, limbs, brush and whatever else has been dumped in the lake moving toward the dam. In a week or two you will be able to walk across the lake on the debris in front of the dam the way it was a couple years ago.

THAT SUCKS! I wasn't going to be there but I still hate to hear that!

Damn so what happens now?

It looks like they found a new place at Eagle Nest campground. They are even going to let us put up the tent. Camp IS STILL ON!! (for now)

Whoa, just got the truck and boat packed up and saw this. Called Bucksaw and or room is still good to go (kitchenette), guess this is a good year to have a room that FLOATS. Should be heading out in about 45 min, see ya all there.:fish

yeah glad we have the suite at the lodge, think we will be dry there.

LOOK OUT eagles nest here comes the whole darn crew. Gona be a ripple in the ozone when we get done.

The days of major hoo-rahing are in the past. I haven't seen a blow up sex doll bungeed to a boat seat in years. :Rofl

I just went down and checked in on the crew. Looks like it will make a great back up for this years camp. We have been through worse than a little high water for camps. Great area for setting up the big tent. Campsites were nice and dry even after all the rain we have had. Shower hoiuse/bathrooms pretty close to where the gathering area/tent /meals will be. So come on down and let the fun begin.
