Black Perch.
Fished Dale Hollow today. Water temps were 64 degrees. Could not find the Smallies, Gills, or shellcracker anywhere. I was able to catch over 50 rock bass...AKA black perch. That saved the day for me. I caught them on a Yamaga Blanks Blue Current TZ 8' 3" UL long cast rod. I was using a Bison colored Trout Magnet 6 feet under the float. Reel was strung up with SOS 2# test line. Most of the rock bass were 9-10 inch fish...quality fish. Sure was a lot of fun on the light rod and watching the float go down....pretty good fight. Life is good!

Those are good Perch! I got them in the Duck river n downtown Manchester once, fought like crazy in those tight quarters. A good day for you.

I used to catch these on Sugar Creek in Southern Middle Tennessee. My mom would put me out down stream and pick me up at the end of the day at a bridge up stream. I only had one bait with me and it was a black and white snagless sally by Hilderbrandt lures. the # 4 size. Brings back a lot of memories!! And yes they are very good eating

I've caught and eat a bunch in my life from Little River. They still make me smile! We called em Redeyes.

That sounds like heaven to me. Before I became addicted to crappie, those were my favorite to catch. If I could find em like you did, I'd switch back. I Haven't stream fished enough these days.
